## What DELPHI-000 is

The compound of **APOLLO-000** (the site-launch factory · the form · the transmission from above) and **MALKUTH** (the foundation · the kingdom · the ground that receives). Form/function pair held as one name.

DELPHI-000 is the gravitational center of the cosmos per Captain directive 2026-05-26. Every other project — APOLLO, AZL, OMPHALOS, OCTO, the case-studies, the principia, the briefs — orbits DELPHI. *"DELPHI-000 is now Sagittarius A\* of my universe."*

## What DELPHI-000 is not

- **Not a replacement for APOLLO.** APOLLO continues to be the rocket factory. DELPHI provides the malkuth-foundation layer that gives APOLLO launches a place to *land* (the foundation directory and cornerstone page).
- **Not a deployer.** Like APOLLO, DELPHI produces source artifacts. Real-world deployment stays per-site.
- **Not a manager.** No MGMT-COORD wake. Captain said DELPHI is THE task — no manager-coord cycles.

## The Delphi anchor

In the ancient world, the **omphalos stone at Delphi** was the navel of the world — the place where, according to myth, Zeus's two eagles met after flying from opposite ends of the earth. Apollo's oracle at Delphi worked through the Pythia, who sat on a tripod above a fissure and channeled Apollo's voice. The captain's whole OMPHALOS lexicon (the source-of-truth hub) descends from this same Greek word ὀμφαλός = navel.

**Apollo's voice descended. The omphalos held the landing.** This is the form/function pair DELPHI names: APOLLO is the descent, MALKUTH is the holding. Same act, two executions.

### Secondary referent

**Horus/Heru = Apollo in Hellenic-Egyptian syncretism.** Horus is the kneeling-initiate face of the Ra-function descent. The Greek pantheon and the Egyptian pantheon synced these two figures during the Ptolemaic period. Where APOLLO is "the radiant transmission," HORUS is "the one who receives and embodies it kneeling." Same axis, two cultural castings. DELPHI-000 holds both.

## How DELPHI-000 governs APOLLO

DELPHI-000 provides APOLLO's **malkuth-foundation layer** — the ground that receives what APOLLO launches:

1. **The `malkuth` theme** at `_APOLLO/themes/malkuth/` — a new sibling theme (citrine · olive · russet · black) that visually grounds a launched site in the foundation-stone register. DELPHI-000's signature theme.

2. **The `emit-foundation.py` script** at `_DELPHI-000/emit-foundation.py` — a standalone foundation-emitter that takes any launched-site path and emits a `/foundation/` directory into it (containing `foundation.md` + `cornerstone.html`). The site declares where it stands — `I AM HERE`.

3. **No modification of APOLLO's existing files in this fire.** DELPHI provides the function as a *separate callable*. Captain-ratified integration with `launch-site.py` is out of scope for v0.1 (see "future moves requiring Captain ratify" below).

## Future moves requiring Captain ratify

These are **proposals, not actions in this fire** (per Captain's correction 2026-05-26: don't change any names; don't modify existing APOLLO files):

1. **Register `malkuth` as a recognized theme in `_APOLLO/launch-site.py`.** Currently the CLI's `SUPPORTED_THEMES` list and `THEME_SIGIL` map are limited to the 5 v0.1 themes. Adding `malkuth` to both would let `apollo launch <domain> <code> --theme malkuth` resolve. Requires Captain Seal because it modifies an existing canonical file.

2. **Update `_APOLLO/themes/README.md` to add the malkuth row** to the v0.1 themes table (it is currently a 5-theme table with `mnemosyne · wax · necropolis` on the v0.2 roadmap). Requires Captain Seal because it modifies an existing canonical file.

3. **Update `_APOLLO/mission-control.html` if any theme list references need updating.** Same rationale.

4. **Integrate `emit-foundation.py` into `launch-site.py` as a post-launch step when `--theme malkuth` is selected.** This would make the foundation-directory emission automatic. Currently the emitter is a separate callable that must be invoked manually against a launched site folder.

Until Captain ratifies these, the malkuth theme is **shipped but not CLI-selectable through APOLLO directly**. Use it by:
- pointing at `_APOLLO/themes/malkuth/tokens.css` directly when authoring a site by hand,
- or copying `_APOLLO/themes/malkuth/tokens.css` into a launched site's `theme-tokens.css` after the fact,
- or running `emit-foundation.py <site-path>` against any launched site to add the foundation layer regardless of which theme was used.

## Falsification

If a future session ships APOLLO launches without a foundation layer (no `/foundation/` directory, no cornerstone declaration of "I AM HERE"), DELPHI-000 failed to take root. The next correction promotes `emit-foundation.py` from standalone script to a structural placement inside `launch-site.py`'s post-launch hook (requires Captain Seal).

If the malkuth theme accumulates without anyone selecting it because the CLI doesn't know about it, the disclosed-gap was real and the proposal to update `launch-site.py` must be put on Captain's plate.
